why you should be using a konjac sponge

My Friends Use This was built on the foundation of high quality, sustainable skincare products. We’ve been picky. Believe us when we tell you, the Konjac obsession we have is REAL. It meets our standard for being sustainable (it's 100% biodegradable) AND has a ton of skin benefits. But whaaaat in the world in Konjac? And how do you even say it? Let’s break it down…

The Konjac (con-jack) plant is a perennial native to Asia. It is 97% water but super rich in minerals and naturally pH balanced (umm hello, all good skin benefits). Konjac has been used for 1500 years in Korea, Japan and China as a food source, herbal remedy and beauty tool.

The plant is dried, ground up and then rehydrated to form a sponge and dried out again post-shaping. SO COOL. You’ll also see that this super soft sponge can be infused with active ingredients like green tea, charcoal, turmeric etc. leaving you with your new skincare routine bff to help gently cleanse and exfoliate your skin:

Charcoal: detox skin, absorb toxins, even complexion
Pure: just pure konjac sponge to moisturize and soothe
Green Tea: antioxidants, inflammation, absorption
Turmeric: glowing skin, inflammation, complexion
French Clay: rejuvenating, refreshing, toning

Since they are 100% biodegradable, overtime your sponge will breakdown and you'll be left with nothing but the string! Don't worry though, this will take a decently long time depending on usage.

How to use: Hydrate your sponge in warm water & squeeze out any excess. Use your sponge by itself or add your favorite cleanser and gently massage your skin with the sponge in circular motions. Rinse after use, squeeze out any left over water and hang to dry between uses.

Have you ever used a konjac sponge? We'd love to hear your thoughts!
